TREASURE’s beloved member, Junghwan, faces an unimaginable loss.
The 19-year-old artist’s father passed away on August 17.
On August 21, YG Entertainment announced the heartbreaking news in an official statement, stating, “We regret to inform you that TREASURE SO JUNG HWAN’s father passed away on August 17.”
Regarding the details of his late father’s funeral, the label shared, “The funeral was held quietly among family, close relatives, and TREASURE members, following the wishes of JUNG HWAN and his family.”
YG Entertainment asked fans to support Junghwan during this difficult time, “We ask for your warm condolences and consideration so that JUNG HWAN can have some time to mourn with his family.”
It has not been announced whether or not he will suspend activities temporarily. Details about his participation in the group’s upcoming schedule have not been officially revealed yet.
Meanwhile, TREASURE recently released their digital single KING KONG in May and the successful “2024 TREASURE Relay Tour [REBOOT] Final in Seoul” concert was held on August 15 at the KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, Seoul.
