Jungkook’s sensational solo track, Seven, has recently achieved a remarkable milestone by earning a Silver Certification from the prestigious British Record Industry Association.
Released in July, Seven resonated with fans worldwide and received a lot of love and support. It would not be wrong to call it a chart-topping sensation as it ranked on the major music charts including Billboard Hot 100 and the UK official charts.
On November 18, Jungkook’s Seven was awarded silver certification for its popularity in the British music market.
With this achievement, Jungkook has made history once again. He has become the first K-pop solo singer in nearly a decade to receive certification as a single from the British Record Industry Association. The last time this happened was back in 2013 with PSY’s hit song.
The Silver Certification is awarded to songs that have reached a significant number of sales or streams in the United Kingdom.
The British Record Industry Association recognizes and awards certifications based on the number of digital downloads, streaming, and physical album sales. These certifications include Silver for over 200,000 units, Gold for over 400,000 units, Platinum for over 600,000 units, and Multi-Platinum for over 1.2 million units.
So, the certification levels are determined by the impressive number of sales and streams an artist achieves.
