JYP Entertainment to Take Legal Action Against Defamation and False Information Spreading About Their Artists

Lately, there has been an increase in hate and defamation directed towards several JYP Entertainment artists, particularly certain Stray Kids members, by antis.

In addition, fans and Hyunjin and other artists were demanding JYP Entertainment to take action by trending multiple tags on X.

On March 14, JYPE issued an official statement addressing the hate directed towards their artists. The agency stated, “We would like to inform you of the progress of legal action regarding rumors and false information posts that infringe the rights of artists that are currently being posted and distributed on social media and online communities.”

JYP Entertainment also shared an update regarding collecting sufficient evidence, “We are carefully securing data on those who posted and distributed malicious posts, including malicious slander, defamation, and false information about artists, and are taking available legal action with specialized law firms.”

The agency further states, “We would like to inform you that violating the artist’s rights and interests by posting or distributing malicious posts is a clear violation of the law, and that we will take strong legal action without leniency or agreement.

In addition, collection of malicious posts and legal action against artists are carried out on a regular basis, and we ask for the interest and active reporting of relevant fans. (fan@jype.com)
