KARA's Youngji

Youngji from KARA is saying goodbye to her longtime agency, DSP Media.

On September 5, DSP Media announced the news on all social media channels, stating, “First, we would like to thank the fans who have sent endless love and support to Heo Youngji. We are announcing that the exclusive contract period of Heo Youngji, who has been with us for the past 10 years with special trust, has come to an end.”

The label further added,” We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Heo Youngji, who has brought positive energy on and off stage as our artist, and we will continue to support her future endeavors.”

Later, Youngji took to Instagram to personally announce her departure, saying, “After being together for 10 years, I am leaving DSP to start a new journey! DSP was not only my starting point but also a precious company that shared all the moments of my 20s.

It will always be a precious company to me in the future. I want to express my gratitude to all the DSP family members who have always supported me. With the support and love of everyone, I’ll greet you with an even better appearance in the future.”

Youngji rose to fame in 2014 when she competed in the KARA Project, a reality TV show designed to select a new member for KARA, a girl group under DSP Media. She emerged as the winner, securing the top spot in the finale. As a result, she joined KARA as the newest addition to the group.

On August 18, 2014, she officially debuted as a KARA member with the release of their sixth mini-album, Day & Night. The group recently made a comeback with Single I Do, I Do in July.
