Kep1er Confirms Contract Renewal, Moves Forward with 7 Members without Mashiro and Kang Yeseo

Kep1er in a teaser for their upcoming album Kep1going on

After so much back-and-forth and various contradicting reports about Kep1et disbandment, it is officially confirmed that the group has renewed contract and will continue group activities.

With this, Kep1er became the first project group formed through Mnet’s audition program to successfully renew its contract.

On May 30, according to Wake One and Swing Entertainment, the agency announced that it had reached an agreement with the seven members including Choi Yujin, Xiaoting, Kim Chaehyun, Kim Dayeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, and Seo Young Eun to extend their group activities.

Additionally, Kep1er will reorganize as a 7-member group as the agencies of Mashiro and Kang Yeseo failed to reach an agreement, as per earlier reports.

The group, which initially had 9 members, will carry on with 7 members for future endeavors, both locally and globally.

Nevertheless, Mashiro and Kang Yeseo will participate in promotional activities for their upcoming full-length album Kep1going On, set to release on June 3. Their final appearance as part of Kepler will be at the Japan concert in July.

WakeOne shared that following extensive talks with Mashiro, Yeseo, and their respective agencies, it was decided that they would not be continuing their journey with Kep1er.

It is a bittersweet moment for fans as the group has announced contract renewal, however, they still have to say goodbye to two members.
