The hit K-drama, which blends live action and 3D animation, is set to drop its third season on TVING next year.

While the lead cast was already confirmed, TVING announced the supporting cast and more broadcast details on July 3.

‘Yumi’s Cells’ Season 3 Release Date

According to TVING and multiple reports, Yumi’s Cells Season 3 will premiere sometime in 2026. While the exact date is still under wraps, excitement is already building as new casting news and plot details surface.

Plot: What Is Yumi’s Cells 3 About?

Yumi’s Cells is known for its unique mix of realistic storytelling and adorable “cell village” animation that brings the main character’s inner thoughts and emotions to life.

In Season 3, Yumi (Kim Go Eun) is now a star romance novelist, having achieved her dream of becoming a writer in the previous season. But when it comes to her own love life, things remain as complicated as ever.

The once-busy Cell Village inside Yumi has quieted down, as if on a break from all the drama. That is, until a new man shows up to shake things up. Enter Shin Soon Rok (Kim Jae Won), the reindeer-like new PD at Julie Literature’s editorial department, played by popular youth actor Kim Jae Won.

His rational nature is set to clash with Yumi’s ever-fluctuating emotional side. There will be plenty of sweet, awkward, and swoon-worthy moments that fans of K-dramas love.

Cast and Character

Kim Go Eun as Yumi

Kim Go Eun returns as Yumi, the relatable everywoman at the heart of Yumi’s Cells. In Season 3, Yumi has grown from an ordinary office worker to a bestselling romance novelist living out her dream. Despite her professional success, her love life is still a bumpy ride. Her journey this season shows her balancing her booming writing career with new twists in romance as her cells react to the unexpected arrival of a new man.

Kim Jae Won as Soon Rok

Kim Jae Won plays Soon Rok, the new PD at Julie Literature’s editorial department — the team that handles Yumi’s books. On the outside, Soon Rok looks calm, polite, and almost too rational, as if only his “rational cells” run the show. But as he starts managing Yumi, whose emotional cells are all over the place, his hidden warmth and unexpected charm start to show.
