Kim Min Ha and Noh Sang Hyun Return as a Couple in New Netflix Movie ‘Messily Ever After’

Kim Min Ha and Noh Sang Hyun for 'Messily Ever After'

The upcoming Netflix film, Messily Ever After, gives a hilariously honest look at long-term love. The title hints that the happy endings aren’t always tidy.

On February 24, Netflix released photos from a script reading session with the lead stars, Noh Sang Hyun and Kim Min Ha. This is their second project together after the critically acclaimed series, Pachinko.

The film is directed by the rising talent Seo Jung Min, a graduate of the Korea National University of Arts, and will be released exclusively on Netflix.

The story follows Su Hyeon, a careful curator played by Kim Min Ha, and Hyeon Tae, a stubborn installation artist played by Noh Sang Hyun. They have been together for ten years, and the film shows the funny, messy, and emotional moments that come with a long-term relationship.

This is the second time fans will see them share the screen space. They previously played a married couple (pastor Isak and Sunja) in Apple TV+’s Pachinko, where their love story was both sad and beautiful. In this film, fans will get a chance to see their “unfinished romance” in a new setting.

Ahead of Messily Ever After, Kim Min Ha will appear in Netflix’s Dead-End Job this October and may also lead in the 1980s spy thriller Embers. She recently appeared in Typhoon Family with 2PM member Lee Junho, which recorded good ratings. Noh Sang Hyun is set to star in the MBC drama Perfect Crown with IU and Byeon Woo Seok. The drama is slated for April 3 and globally streams on Disney+.

Noh received a lot of love for his last film, Love in the Big City, which also starred Kim Go Eun. He played a gay character and the film was invited to major film festivals and won many domestic awards.

Meanwhile, Messily Ever After is not part of Netflix’s 2026 K-content lineup; therefore, it is expected to be released next year.
