The acting comeback of actress Kim Sae Ron, which was planned after her hiatus due to a drunk driving incident, has been called off.

On April 18, a representative from the production team of the play Dongchimi revealed that Kim Sae Ron had decided to step away from the production due to personal reasons.

Additionally, the spokesperson mentioned that another actor would be taking over her role. Initially, she was set to portray the character of Jeong-yeon, the younger daughter, in the family drama Dongchimi, scheduled to run from May 3 to 12.

According to the official, Sae Ron made the decision to leave the day before, on April 17. On that day, news of her potential return was revealed in an exclusive report by a media outlet, which may have led to her prompt departure from the show, likely due to the negative public reaction surrounding her.

Additionally, the details about Kim Sae Ron that were initially shared in the play’s promotional post have been removed. Her name and profile photo, previously linked to the role of the younger daughter, have now been left blank.

Recently, there was some buzz about dating rumors after a selfie was shared featuring Kim Sae Ron and actor Kim Soo Hyun, who stars in the tvN weekend drama Queen of Tears

Despite explanations from Kim Soo Hyun’s team that clarified the situation, public opinion shifted to criticize Sae Ron for what was perceived as thoughtless behavior.
