Kim Tae Ri, Shin Ye Eun, and More Showcase Chemistry at ‘Jeong Nyeon’ Script Reading Session

The cast of tvN drama Jeong Nyeon: The Star is Born gathered for a script reading session.

Led by Kim Tae Ri and Shin Ye Eun, the star-studded lineup including Ra Mi Ran, Jung Eun Chae, Kim Yoon Hye, Moon So Ri, and Lee Deok Hwa, brought the drama’s characters to life at the script reading. 

On August 23, tvN uploaded a video to their official YouTube channel, giving fans a sneak peek into the first script reading of their upcoming Saturday-Sunday drama, Jeong Nyeon: The Star is Born. The video features the entire cast, joined by director Jung Ji In and writer Choi Hyo Bi.

During the script reading, Kim Tae Ri fully embodied her character, Yoon Jeong Nyeon, a singing prodigy from Mokpo. She even practiced her singing during breaks and entertained her fellow actors with her authentic dialect. 

Shin Ye Eun participated in the reading while holding a fan, a nod to her character’s singing profession.

The seasoned actors, Ra Mi Ran, Moon So Ri and Lee Deok Hwa, brought depth and charisma. Meanwhile, newcomers Jung Eun Chae and Kim Yoon Hye, stars of the Mae-ran National Theater Troupe, impressed with their talent. Newcomers Woo Da Bi and Lee Se Young added a fresh touch.

Jeong Nyeon: The Star is Born is a heartwarming drama set in the 1950s post-Korean-war era, inspired by a hit webtoon. The show follows Jeong Nyeon, a gifted singer, as she pursues her dream of becoming a star in traditional Korean opera. With its unique all-female cast, the story delves into the world of women’s national theater.

Jenong Nyeon: The Star is Born premieres on October 12 at 9:20 PM KST.
