Actor Lee Do Hyun officially began his mandatory military service on August 14, 2023, joining the Republic of Korea Air Force military band. The 28-year-old star enlisted quietly, in line with his agency Yuehua Entertainment’s earlier statement that the time and place of his enlistment would remain private to avoid crowding. Instead of a public farewell, Lee chose to connect with fans ahead of his departure through a solo fan meeting.

On August 5, 2023, he held the event titled “2023 Lee Do Hyun Fan Meeting: Beginning” at the Grand Theater of the Donghae Culture and Arts Center in Seoul. The fan meeting was also streamed online with a replay available on August 12. During the event, Lee Do Hyun spoke about his upcoming enlistment, expressing gratitude to his fans for their support.

He promised to return as a “healthier and better person” after completing his service. The fan meeting included special stages, behind-the-scenes stories, and a chance for fans to send him encouragement before his departure.

Lee Do Hyun’s enlistment came during a high point in his acting career. In the first half of 2023, he starred in several successful projects, including Netflix’s “The Glory” opposite Song Hye Kyo and the hit JTBC drama “The Good Bad Mother,” where he received praise for his emotional performance.

He is also preparing for the release of the occult thriller film “Pamyo” in which he stars alongside veteran actors Choi Min Sik and Kim Go Eun. The movie is scheduled for release in 2024, making it one of his last completed works before enlistment.

Since making his debut in 2017’s “Prison Playbook,” Lee Do Hyun has built a strong reputation through roles in “Hotel Del Luna,” “18 Again,” “Sweet Home,” and “Youth of May.” His performances have earned him multiple awards, including Best New Actor trophies and rising star recognition across film and television.

After completing basic training, Lee Do Hyun is set to serve in the Air Force military band, where he will use his musical skills to contribute during his service.
