Law and The City First Stills

The newly released images show

Lee Jong Suk as Ahn Joo Hyung, a nine-year veteran at Kyungmin Law Firm, clad in tailored suits with an air of detached brilliance. His character, who became a lawyer out of love for logic rather than justice, appears enigmatic.

Lee returns to the small screen with this new legal drama with romance elements after three years. His last appearance was in the drama, Big Mouth, opposite SNSD’s YoonA in 2022.

Mun Ka Young as Kang Hee Ji, a passionate second-year lawyer at Johwa Law Firm. Her stills capture her character’s passion, with a determined gaze and stacks of case files on the desk.

Mun Ka Young’s fans are in for a treat with her quick return to the TV screens. She recently appeared in the webtoon-based drama, My Dearest Nemesis, with Choi Hyun Wook. The drama also aired on tvN and concluded on March 24, 2025.

The ensemble cast includes Kang You Seok, Ryu Hye Young, Im Sung Jae, Yeom Hye Ran, and more.

Plot Overview

The series follows the “Associate Lawyers Avengers”, a group of five lawyers who bond over lunch breaks while tackling complex cases.

Lee Jong Suk is an experienced lawyer who does not care much about justice but prioritizes logic. Resident Playbook star Kang You Seok shines as the lively Jo Chang Won, injecting energy into every scene with his high-spirited chatter during the lawyers’ dinner gatherings.

Ryu Hye Young portrays Bae Moon Jung, the natural leader of the group. Im Sung Jae adds depth as the office-weary Ha Sang Ki, skillfully switching between his professional persona and a more relaxed after-hours personality.

Production

W: Two Worlds Apart director Park Seung Woo is at the helm, and his reunion with Lee Jong Suk after eight years is highly anticipated. Former lawyer Lee Seung Hyun penned the script to bring more authenticity to courtroom drama and legal jargon. The filming began in late 2024, and some key sequences were shot abroad.
