Lee Jun Hyuk is considering a lead role in another romance drama after Love Scout. The 41-year-old actor recently starred in the thriller The Art of Sarah and the blockbuster movie The King’s Warden (cameo role).

On February 23, The Fact reported that Lee Jun Hyuk will lead the webtoon adaptation, A Casual Lie. The drama is still in the early stages of planning, and production is expected to begin in earnest following this confirmation.

A Casual Lie by author Kim Eon Hee follows the story of Tae Joon Seop, the grandson of TK Group Chairman Tae Si Hwan. He is considered the most perfect man in his chaebol family. Things go south when he meets copywriter Yeon Woo Kyung, and the two become involved in a tense succession battle within the company.

Lee Jun Hyuk, has experimented with a wide spectrum of genres, such as playing detectives, villains, righteous prosecutors, and more.

Last year, he embraced a softer image in the SBS drama Love Scout, where he played a warm and devoted single father. He was praised for his performance and won the Best Excellence Award at the 2025 SBS Acting Awards.

In A Casual Lie, he is expected to show a more restrained and cool-headed side.

The drama shares the same fictional world as Iseop’s Romance, another adaptation of Kim Eon Hee’s work that reportedly stars Lee Jong Suk. In the original novel series, the two male leads are cousins within the TK Group family. Iseop’s Romance focuses more on a workplace love story. On the other hand, A Casual Lie centers on internal family rivalry and the pressure of succession.

Meanwhile, Lee Jun Hyuk recently appeared in the Netflix mystery thriller The Art of Sarah alongside Shin Hye Sun, reuniting with her after their work in Stranger. He is also set to star in the upcoming occult series Awakening and will make a cameo in Disney+’s upcoming The Remarried Empress later this year.
