Lee Junho is in talks for a new Kdrama with actor Ju Ji Hoon. As reported on March 23 by OSEN, the 2PM member received an offer to star in Buy King. His agency, O3 Collective, later confirmed that Junho is “positively reviewing” his appearance in the new drama.
Buy King is centered on a hidden succession battle within a Korean chaebol family. The story follows the intense internal fight for control over a massive multi-million dollar business empire.
In the series, Lee Junho will play Han Jiyeol, a third-generation chaebol heir who works as a corporate risk analysis expert. His character is known for being calm, strategic, and cold-blooded when making decisions. A major part of the story will center on his rivalry with his uncle, Han Tae Jun, the main villain. Actor Ju Ji Hoon is currently considering the role of Han Tae Jun. If he accepts, this project will mark the first time the two Kdrama actors share the screen.
Director Jo Sung Hee (A Werewolf Boy and Space Sweepers) will direct from a script by Lee Shin Ho. Production is handled by Mr. Romance, with filming scheduled to begin this April. Discussions regarding global OTT platform distribution are currently underway.
Lee Junho’s casting comes during a particularly successful period in his career. The 36-year-old idol-actor has starred in hits like The Red Sleeve, King the Land, Typhoon Family, and the recent Netflix series Cashero.
He recently wrapped up a four-city fan meeting tour to celebrate the success of Typhoon Family.
Originally, Lee Junho was expected to begin filming for the film Veteran 3 in the first half of this year. However, the project has been temporarily delayed due to health issues affecting director Ryoo Seung Wan. As a result, Buy King is likely to be his next project to begin filming.
Outside of dramas, Lee will appear on the Netflix variety show Kian’s Bizarre B&B 2. Also, he will meet fans again in May through a solo concert celebrating the 15th anniversary of 2PM’s Japanese debut.
Lee Junho is also set to attend the 3rd Asia Star Entertainer Awards 2026 on May 16 in Japan.
