Fans of Stray Kids’ Lee Know are expressing outrage and concern after the idol’s personal information, including his phone number, was leaked online.
Lee Know has fallen victim to a severe invasion of privacy by obsessive fans, known as ‘saesangs’. These individuals have leaked sensitive personal information, including his family’s home address, flight details, and phone number.
Sasaengs are known for their obsessive and extreme behavior including harassment, stalking, and leaking personal information. They have invaded the privacy of many K-pop idols and sold it for their personal gain. More recently, a woman was investigated by police for selling flight details of BTS and other K-pop idols.
STAYs are enraged after a video of Sasaeng leaking Lee Know’s phone number in a video. His personal information has been compromised multiple times, with the first incident involving individuals connected to Stray Kids’ agency JYP Entertainment. After the incident, it was speculated that the label terminated its contract with those responsible, however, JYPE never publicly apologized or announced any legal action.
The latest leak originated from a sasaeng who had previously shared Lee Know’s information, but this time it garnered more attention. Unfortunately, JYP Entertainment has not taken a firm stance against these privacy violations.
Fans and supporters are calling on the agency to take immediate action to protect Lee Know’s privacy and safety. STAYs are upset that JYP Entertainment repeatedly announced that they would take legal action against people spreading harmful content about Stray Kids. However, they have not actually done anything about it.
They now demand the label to take appropriate legal action against individuals responsible for leaking his personal info.
On another note, Stray Kids will kick off their Latin American leg of the world tour “dominATE”, with shows scheduled for March 27-28 in Santiago, Chile.
