Lee Yi Kyung has become the subject of controversy after a netizen posted claims about his private life online. In response, his agency, Sangyeong ENT, has issued a firm statement denying all allegations. The agency warned that it will pursue legal action against the spread of false information.
The situation began on October 19, when a blogger uploaded screenshots that appeared to show private messages exchanged with Lee Yi Kyung. The alleged KakaoTalk and Instagram DMs included suggestive content and personal questions.
These messages were of a sexual nature, where Lee was allegedly requesting photos of body parts and asking about breast size. The poster described themselves as a “victim.”
However, Sangyeong ENT moved swiftly to shut down the claims. On October 20, the agency released an official statement calling the posts “false and malicious.”
Regarding the recent matters being posted and spread across online communities and social media, we are preparing legal action in response to the spread of false information and malicious rumors that have caused harm. Given the seriousness of this situation, we plan to assess the extent of direct and indirect damages caused by the distribution of false information and will take all necessary legal measures accordingly.
According to the agency, this isn’t the first time the same individual has targeted the actor. They noted that about five months ago, the person behind the recent post allegedly sent the agency a threatening email demanding money. When the agency threatened to sue, the sender issued an apology and backed down.
Previously, Lee came under fire for his behavior on Country Life of Gen-Z after secretly taking a Polaroid of aespa’s Winter and 17-year-old Jung Dong Won without their consent.
He then gave the photo to Jung, who is also a fan of Winter, and jokingly said, “You said you like older women, right?” and called it a “gift.” Viewers accused him of objectifying Winter and encouraging a romantic angle between an adult and a minor.
Despite the controversies, Lee Yi Kyung has remained focused on his work. The actor, who first gained recognition through “White Night” and later through popular dramas and variety appearances. He is currently a regular cast member on MBC’s “Hangout with Yoo” and continues to maintain a busy schedule.
He recently appeared in the hit Kdramas like Marry My Husband, Confidence Queen, Face Me, and more.
On the work front, Lee Yi Kyung will appear in the movie Generational Regret and the drama It’s You, Out of the Blue.
