BLACKPINK’s Lisa and BTS’ Jimin released new music on the same day, June 28.
The BLACKPINK rapper made her long-awaited comeback with a digital single, ROCKSTAR, while the BTS vocalist dropped a pre-release track, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco), from upcoming album MUSE.
Jimin’s Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco) topped the iTunes chart in an impressive 112 countries including Australia, Brazil, India, UK, UAE, USA, Spain, Qatar, Mexico, Switzerland, and more.
The song reached number one on both the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart and the European iTunes Song Chart on its release day.
On the other hand, Lisa’s ROCKSTAR topped the iTunes chart in 35 countries including Belize, Laos, Hong Kong, Argentina, Thailand, and more.
The Like Crazy singer shattered records with a colossal 8,641,850 streams on the Spotify counter, marking the biggest debut for a K-pop act in 2024, while Lisa’s ROCKSTAR followed closely behind with 7,782,173 streams.
ROCKSTAR music video has taken the lead on YouTube with over 41 million views, outpacing Smeraldo Garden Marching Band which currently has 6.6 million views.
Setting aside their chart performance, fans and critics are truly enjoying their music. Once again, they have showcased their musical talent with their latest releases.
On another note, Jimin is set to release a new album, MUSE, on July 19. Lisa plans to release a solo album this year, collabs with Tyla and Rosalía are also expected.
