MONSTA X’s Minhyuk returns to the spotlight after a year and a half!
On October 3, the 30-year-old K-pop star completed his active-duty military service. Joohoney, I.M, Kihyun, and Shownu arrived at the military camp to celebrate his discharge.
Lee Minhyuk began his military service in April last year, joining the 5th Division’s new recruit training unit in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province. Following his training, he continued serving in the 5th Infantry Division.
Before enlisting, he shared a heartfelt, handwritten letter on the official fan cafe and personally bid farewell to his fans.
Minhyuk enlisted with a heartfelt sendoff from his Monsta X members and later made headlines with his impressive military uniform appearance on the army training camp’s website. After 18 months of service, he is now the second member to complete his military duty, following Shownu.
MONSTA X’s Joohoney, Kihyun, and Hyungwon will be discharged from military service on January 21, 2025, February 21, 2025, and May 13, 2025, respectively. I.M, the group’s youngest member, aged 28, has not announced his enlistment date.
Following his discharge, his first priority is reconnecting with fans through a special event. Last July, MONSTA X members (excluding Minhyuk, who was serving in the military) held the 7th MONBEBE fancon, ‘MonX Friends’. To make up for missing it, he has planned a fan event.
Starship Entertainment announced the ‘2024 MINHYUK Fan Event: Let’s GO!5rae’ on the 9th anniversary of Monsta X’s official fan club, MONBEBE (September 26). Minhyuk will meet fans at Yes24 Live Hall on October 6, just three days after his discharge, hosting two events: one at 1 PM and another at 5 PM.
