On November 12, MBC announced its upcoming Friday-Saturday drama, ‘Motel California’, slated for January 2025 premiere.
MBC’s ‘Motel California’ is a heartwarming romance drama about a woman’s second chance at first love. Based on Shim Yoon Seo’s bestselling novel ‘Home, Bitter Home’ (2019), the story follows a young woman who grew up in a rural motel, and returns to her hometown after 12 years, only to reunite with her long-lost first love.
The MBC drama blends seasoned talent and fresh faces including

- Na In Woo as Cheon Yeon Soo
- Choi Min Soo as Ji Chun Pil
- Kim Tae Hyung as Geum Seok Kyung

The production crew as well as cast members Lee Se Young, Na In Woo, Choi Min Soo, and more gathered for the script reading session.
Lee Se Young and Na In Woo brought their characters to life during the script reading session for “Motel California.” Lee Se Young portrayed Ji Kang Hee, an interior designer with a complex past, while Na In Woo played Cheon Yeon Su, a veterinarian reuniting with his first love.
Choi Min Soo shone as Ji Chun Pil, the unconventional motel owner, and Kang Hee’s father.
Kim Tae Hyung portrayed the only heir of Young & Rich Elite Hotel, Geum Seok Kyung. Choi Hee Jin played Yoon Nan Woo, a veterinarian and college junior-turned-colleague of Cheon Yeon Soo.
“Motel California,” which has generated significant buzz following its script reading, is slated for release in January 2025.
