Like Park Sung Hoon before him, Nam Yoon Su has found himself at the center of a social media controversy. The Kdrama actor clarified that the explicit video was posted on his social media by mistake.
On April 13, the now-deleted post quickly went viral, and many wondered the reason behind posting the 19+ content. The controversy stemmed from a post that Nam Yoon Su shared on his personal account. This post was believed to be an advertisement for an adult product and showed a woman’s lower body represented as a balloon.
After the incident, the “Love in the Big City” actor took to a fan communication platform to explain, “I was driving, and what’s with this repost? Was I hacked? Something strange was posted, and my fans told me about it.”
He then shared a screenshot of his account and added, “It’s just the algorithm, but I think I need to check if I was hacked. I didn’t even know I clicked it.” He claimed that the controversial post was not uploaded by him.
A representative from Nam Yoon Soo’s agency, Agency Garten stated, “It appears that the actor’s phone, which was in his pocket while he was driving, was accidentally pressed.”
They continued, “While it would have been wrong if he had intentionally uploaded it, it was an accidental mishap. Although it was unintentional, we apologize to anyone who may have been uncomfortable with the video related to adult advertising.”
Previously, Park Sung Hoon was embroiled in a similar controversy for sharing adult videos on Instagram during “Squid Game 2” promotions. Despite repeated denials and apologies, he received immense backlash and ultimately had to withdraw from the romance drama with YoonA. Also, fellow Kdrama actor Choi Hyun Wook also faced criticism for posting a photo that accidentally exposed his private parts.
On the work front, Nam Yoon Su appeared in TVING’s “Love in the Big City” last year. He is currently working on the drama “The Borrowed Body” and the movies “Killing Time” and “Hug Me”.
