Nana (real name, Im Jinah) is facing a legal battle after an armed intruder she and her mother subdued filed a countersuit against her, claiming attempted murder. Her agency, Sublime, has announced that it will take firm legal action to protect her.

The incident occurred early on November 15 last year at Nana’s home in Achon-dong, Guri City. A man in his 30s, hereafter referred to as “A,” broke into the house armed with a weapon, threatened Nana and her mother, and demanded money.

During the struggle, Nana’s mother was seriously injured and briefly lost consciousness, and Nana was also hurt while trying to stop the intruder. Together, they managed to restrain him until the police arrived. The man was arrested and later indicted on charges of aggravated robbery and assault.

Police investigated the case under self-defense provisions and concluded that Nana and her mother acted appropriately given the immediate threat. They were cleared of any wrongdoing, and the intruder was sent to prosecution.

Despite the clear police findings, the intruder recently filed a separate lawsuit against Nana, claiming her actions amounted to attempted murder. In response, Sublime issued an official statement on January 2,

“Regarding the robbery and assault case involving our actress Nana, the investigation has confirmed the perpetrator’s crime through a thorough police investigation. In particular, Nana and her family suffered severe physical and mental trauma during the crime, which was committed by an armed perpetrator, and the physical and psychological distress continues to this day.”

The agency criticized the intruder for showing no remorse and for causing additional harm by taking advantage of her celebrity status. Sublime stated it will pursue all possible “civil and criminal actions” and promised to respond fully to prevent further harm to their artist.

The news has led to strong public support for the idol-actor and her mother. Many netizens expressed disbelief and anger, questioning how a robber could sue someone defending themselves. Following the attack, she has taken steps to protect herself, including purchasing self-defense spray.

Before the incident, Nana was preparing for major projects, the drama Climax, and a Netflix series tentatively titled Scandal
