NCT’s Doyoung Announces Final Single “Promise” Before Enlistment

Doyoung in a teaser for 'Promise'

Doyoung is giving fans one last heartfelt gift before stepping away for his military service. On December 1 at midnight (KST), the NCT member announced that he will release a special single album titled Promise on December 9 at 6 p.m. KST.

SM Entertainment dropped the first teaser with an intriguing phrase, “Pause the time we walked together, I’ll be waiting for you, even today.”

The timing is meaningful, as the song arrives just one day after he officially begins his mandatory military service on December 8. Many fans see it as his way of leaving a warm message and a sense of comfort during his upcoming hiatus.

Promise is reported to be a duet with KISS OF LIFE’s Belle, however, nothing is announced yet. Both artists are known for their emotional delivery, and fans are already expecting the track to highlight their chemistry.

This release also marks the end of a very busy year for Doyoung. In 2025, he put out his second solo album Soar, which received strong support. He followed it with his second Asia tour titled Doors and performed in major cities including Seoul, Yokohama, Singapore, Macau, Kobe, Bangkok, and Taipei.

In October, he held encore concerts under the name Yours in Incheon. Alongside his music activities, he contributed to various OSTs, appeared in the musical The Man Who Laughs, and showed his daily life through popular variety programs such as I Live Alone.

As for his enlistment, Doyoung will join active duty together with fellow NCT member Jungwoo on December 8. SM Entertainment shared that no special events or gatherings will be held on the day. They requested fans not to visit the enlistment site for safety and privacy. Both members are expected to complete their service and return on June 7, 2027.

Mark your calendar for December 9 when Doyoung drops Promise on all music platforms.
