K-pop idol Doyoung spread love and kindness on his special day!
To celebrate his birthday, he made a generous donation of 30 million won to support starving children in Korea. The talented singer and member of NCT 127 turned 29 on February 1.
The Ji Foundation revealed on February 7 that Doyoung had donated 30 million won on his birthday, February 1, to help alleviate child hunger in Korea.
His generous donation is expected to greatly benefit underprivileged children and teens facing food insecurity in Korea.
The 30 million won donation from the “Little Light” singer will be utilized to provide healthy meals for children and adolescents in need. Specifically, the funds will be used to:
- Offer nutritious lunchboxes and side dishes
- Support easy-to-cook food kits for convenient meal solutions
- Cover special meal expenses, enabling children in daycare centers and care facilities to enjoy their preferred foods.
For the second year in a row, he is celebrating his birthday by giving back. This time, Doyoung personally selected a charity to help children and teens in need, donating to provide warm, nutritious meals during the cold winter break.
The 29-year-old K-pop idol has consistently supported vulnerable communities, including low-income families, women, and those affected by the Turkey-Syria earthquakes. With his latest contribution, his total donations now exceed 340 million won.
Doyoung shared, “I wanted to share the love I’ve received with many people. I hope my wish for everyone to have a warmer winter, despite the cold, is conveyed.”
On the work front, Doyoung made his solo debut with the full album “YOUTH” in April last year. He also starred in the musical adaptation of the French novel “The Man Who Laughs”. The NCT 127 singer will temporarily step away from the limelight this year to complete mandatory military service.
