Netflix has officially announced the premiere date for the highly anticipated third season of “Squid Game”.

The third and final season of the widely loved Netflix thriller “Squid Game” is set to premiere on June 27.

The final season is centered around Seong Gi Hun (played by Lee Jung Jae), also known as Ki Hoon or Player 456, who rejoins the game with a personal vendetta after losing his best friend. The Frontman, Hwang In Ho (Lee Byung Hun), will also play a crucial role, and his backstory and true identity will be explored.

As for the participants who survived the previous seasons, their fates will be revealed in the final season. The story will take a darker and more intense turn, with higher stakes and brutal new games. The season will also introduce international players and high-profile actors, expanding the “Squid Game” universe beyond South Korea.

The third season takes off from the explosive showdown between Ki Hoon and Frontman in season two. Now, Ki Hoon is at a breaking point after his attempt to take down the game’s ruthless organizers fails miserably.

As he is forced to make some desperate choices, Frontman pulls the strings from behind the scenes, watching Ki Hoon’s every move. With the game reaching its climax, the players’ psychological states begin to unravel in shocking ways.

The latest poster for “Squid Game 3” features a pink guard dragging a lifeless player to a coffin wrapped in a pink ribbon.

This season’s set has a colorful spiral flower pattern on the floor, unlike season 2’s bright, rainbow-colored playground. Fans also noticed the giant shadow of Young Hee and her partner Chul Su, who made his debut in episode 7 of season 2. These subtle hints pique curiosity about what’s in store for the final season.

In addition, the newly released stills offer a glimpse into the intense drama. The images feature Ki Hoon, Frontman, the pink guard No Eul (played by Park Gyu Young), and other participants.

Following the massive success of Season 1, the most-watched Netflix series of all time, Season 2 also hit several viewership milestones. Released on December 26 last year, it set a new record for the most views in a single week on Netflix. Additionally, it became the third most-watched series on the platform just 18 days after its release.

Meanwhile, ‘Squid Game’ Season 3 is set to be released exclusively on Netflix on Friday, June 27, 2025. It will feature the final game of the series.
