NewJeans’ New Instagram Account Hit 2+ Million Followers in 24 Hours After Announcing Exit From ADOR

NewJeans Minji's Post from their new Instagram account

The conflict between NewJeans and HYBE continues to intensify with each passing day.

On November 28, the group announced their departure from their label ADOR (a subsidiary of HYBE) in an emergency press conference.

The members revealed that they ended their contract, effective November 29 at midnight. However, they mentioned that they would continue to fight for the rights to their name ‘NewJeans’ because it symbolizes their journey.

Despite NewJeans members claiming exclusive contract termination with ADOR, the label has repeatedly stressed that they are still artists under ADOR. They even filed a lawsuit against the group members for exclusive contract validity.

More recently, NewJeans opened a new Instagram account with the handle “jeanzforfree” after announcing split from ADOR. The account quickly gained traction, surpassing 2.2 million followers within 24 hours. The group is utilizing the platform to share updates and connect with fans in a more personal way.

Within 24 hours of launching their Instagram account, NewJeans treated fans to a flurry of updates. They shared 4 posts and 12 stories, offering a unique glimpse into their lives. Minji posted personal photos, while Hanni shared playful airplane snapshots.

On December 14, NewJeans made their first post revealing a kind surprise. They had prepared prepaid meals, including kimbap, drinks, coffee, and samgyetang, for fans attending the Yeouido candlelight vigil for President Yoon’s impeachment.

While they have announced a split from HYBE and ADOR, NewJeans is moving forward with their planned activities. They recently made a guest appearance at the YOASOBI concert in Korea, and the members are actively engaging with their fans, even though they are not officially using the name ‘NewJeans’ at the moment.

The ‘Jeanzforfree account they created serves as a promotional tool and a platform for direct communication with their fans.
