Ok Taecyeon, 2PM member and a successful actor, has announced his plans to marry his longtime non-celebrity partner. On November 1, his agency 51K shared a statement saying, “Actor Ok Taecyeon has promised to spend the rest of his life with someone he has been in a long-term relationship with.”
The agency added that the wedding will take place next spring in Seoul in a private ceremony. The couple will tie the knot in the presence of family and close friends, and they have asked the public to respect the bride’s privacy.
Taecyeon also shared a heartfelt handwritten letter to fans on the same day, writing, “I have promised to spend the rest of my life with one person who has understood and trusted me for a long time. We will be each other’s pillars of support and walk together through the rest of our lives.”
This announcement comes after earlier rumors had swirled around Taecyeon’s personal life. Back in February, online communities circulated photos showing him kneeling with a ring in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. This sparked rumors of a secret proposal or marriage.
His agency was quick to clarify, “Those photos were not taken as part of a marriage proposal. The photos, taken last year to celebrate his girlfriend’s birthday, were unfortunately leaked and spread on online communities.”
They also added that while a marriage “may” happen someday, “there are no immediate plans for marriage at this time.” At that time, the couple’s relationship had already been publicly acknowledged since 2020, but the wedding plans were still firmly private.
On the work front, Taecyeon will appear in the Japanese drama, Soul Mate. Since debuting with 2PM in 2008, he has balanced his idol activities with a flourishing acting career, appearing in dramas like Vincenzo and the 2025 series The First Night with the Duke.
As per the agency, he intends to continue embracing “good projects and a wide variety of activities” even after his wedding.
