Park Hyung Sik is set to return to the big screen after 7 years. The 34-year-old actor is in talks to star in a new film titled “Family Force,” alongside veteran actor Cha Seung Won.
As reported by YTN Star on February 25, Park Hyung Sik will appear in a comical action film. Family Force centers on three generations of Marines: a grandfather, a father, and a son, who become caught in an unexpected terrorist attack.
In the film, Park plays the son, an active-duty Marine at the center of the story. The role feels meaningful given his past connection to military-themed projects. In 2013, he appeared on MBC’s Real Men, where celebrities underwent real military training.
Park Hyung Sik later completed his mandatory military service from 2019 to 2021 in the Army band. Family Force will also reunite him with Cha Seung Won. The two previously met on tvN’s Three Meals a Day: Fishing Village 2 in 2015. At the time, the “Twelve” actor appeared as a guest, and viewers loved their natural chemistry.
The episode featuring Park recorded high ratings, and many still remember their easy, almost father-son dynamic. This film will be their first time working together in a scripted project, nearly 11 years later.
Park Hyung Sik debuted in 2010 as a member of the idol group ZE:A before turning to acting. He rose to fame with lead roles in The Heirs, Strong Woman Do Bong-soon, Buried Hearts, and Doctor Slump.
Before Family Force, Park Hyung Sik will appear in a romantic comedy, A Proper Romance, with Park Gyu Young.
