Park Ji Hoon is in the news for both his current work and a possible next project. As he prepares for the release of his upcoming film, reports say he is also reviewing an offer to star in a new drama titled Promoter..
As reported by News1 on January 20, Park Ji Hoon is reviewing an offer to star in the drama Promoter, which is currently in talks to air on tvN.
In Promoter, the former Wanna One member is considering playing a hardworking and self-made genius boxer. If he joins the project, it would be another major transformation in his career.
The drama is written by Ryu Kyung Sun, known for the webtoon and film series Long Live the King, and will be directed by Lee Jong Suk, who previously directed The Negotiation in 2018 and Forbidden Fairytale in 2024.
While discussions are ongoing, no official confirmation has been made yet, and the drama is being considered for tvN’s lineup in the coming year.
If he joins the project, Promoter is expected to further expand Park Ji Hoon’s acting range. The 26-year-old idol actor has already been praised for his performances in dramas such as Love Revolution, At a Distance, Spring Is Green, and Love Song for Illusion. He is especially known for his strong action acting in Weak Hero Class 1 and Weak Hero Class 2, and Promoter is expected to build on that with more intense boxing scenes.
Park Ji Hoon is also staying active across films and OTT platforms. His new movie, The King’s Warden, directed by Jang Hang Jun, will be released on February 4. In the film, he plays the young, exiled King Danjong, and the project has already received positive feedback from industry insiders even before its release.
He is also set to appear in the TVING series The Legendary Cook Soldier, which is scheduled to be released later this year.
Besides acting, Park Ji Hoon is scheduled to hold a solo fan concert titled The Iconic in Manila on March 7 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Plus, he will also take part in the Wanna One reunion variety show.
