Pharrell Williams, the incredible musician and producer, has teamed up with NewJeans for their debut single in Japan, Supernatural. He’s lending his talents as both a composer and lyricist for the single.
As announced by ADOR on May 13, Pharrell Williams has been credited for his involvement in NewJeans’ Japanese debut single Supernatural. He not only contributed to the composition but also worked on the title track itself, Supernatural.
Supernatural beautifully blends a nostalgic melody with the emotional vocals of the members.
ADOR described it as a unique creation where the producer, 250, took Pharrell Williams’ iconic 2009 hit Back of My Mind, a collaboration with Japanese singer Manami back in 2009, and gave it a fresh twist in a new jack swing style.
After making a comeback with Korean single How Sweet on May 24, the group will begin activities for their Japanese debut in June.
Their Japanese single is scheduled to release on June 21, containing a total of 4 tracks. To build hype for their Japan debut, NewJeans has collaborated with Takashi Murakami and Hiroshi Fujiwara.
Following their debut in debut, the group will hold fanmeeting at Tokyo Dome on June 26 and 27.
