PLAVE Becomes First Male Idol Group to Top Melon’s Top 100 in 2024

PLAVE

PLAVE reaches new heights with a number one spot on Melon’s Top 100!

The virtual idol group dominates the domestic music charts with their latest hit Pump Up The Volume!, released on August 20.

PLAVE’s Pump Up The Volume! debuted at number one on Melon’s Hot 100 and number six on Top 100 at 7 PM on the release date, before rising to number one on both charts by midnight on August 21.

Pump Up the Volume! is an energetic song with a lively band sound and a catchy, retro-style melody. It was created spontaneously by the members during a live broadcast in June.

PLAVE makes history as the first male virtual idol group to reach number one on Melon’s Top 100 chart in 2024. This year, top spots were dominated by female artists like Love Wins All by IU, BIBI’s Bang Yang Gang, aespa’s Supernova, and Magnetic by ILLIT.

PLAVE joins an elite group of K-pop male idol groups who have reached the top of Melon’s Top 100 chart, including BTS, BIGBANG, NCT DREAM, SEVENTEEN, and EXO.

Previously, they broke NewJeans’ record to become the fastest group to achieve 1 billion streams on Melon.

Following the release of their new single, PLAVE will host a fan concert, ‘Hello, Asterum!’ Encore, at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium on October 5-6. Their first solo concert sold out fast, with over 70,000 fans online at the same time trying to buy tickets.
