RBW Entertainment has officially announced that PURPLE KISS, the self-producing K-pop girl group, will conclude group activities in November 2025. The six members, Na Go-eun, Dosie, Ireh, Yuki, Chaein, and Swan, came to this decision after “long and serious discussions” with their agency.
“We reached a decision based on mutual respect and support for each member’s individual dreams,” RBW said in an official statement.
The group will remain active for a few more months to complete their scheduled final promotions as a farewell to fans.
The agency assured fans, “Although group activities will come to an end, we plan to carry out all scheduled promotions without issue, as a way of repaying the support and love you have shown.”
Before officially disbanding, PURPLE KISS will wrap up several key promotions. These include the release of a full English-language album at the end of August, followed by Japanese promotional activities, a North American tour, and a final concert in South Korea this November.
These remaining appearances will serve as a last opportunity for their fandom, PLORY, to connect with the group on stage.
Since debuting in March 2021 with the mini-album Into Violet, PURPLE KISS has built a distinct identity through bold, often eerie concepts and member-driven music production. Songs like “Ponzona,” “Zombie,” and “Sweet Juice” showed their experimental style.
Vocalist Swan and rappers Yuki and Chaein contributed regularly to songwriting and arrangement. Despite challenges, including Park Jieun’s departure in 2022 due to health issues, the group stayed cohesive and resilient. They even won accolades such as the World K-POP Girl Group Award in 2022.
RBW reflected on the journey, saying, “We sincerely thank the six members who have made PURPLE KISS shine. Even on clumsy and imperfect days, every moment was meaningful thanks to the members who gave their all and to PLORY, who stood by us with constant support.”
Fans have responded with an outpouring of support and sadness. Some netizens have also expressed frustration with how underpromoted the group was, despite their evident talent.
The future of the six members has not been detailed, but they will begin forging solo paths. Yuki ranked third on Queendom Puzzle and debuted with the project group EL7Z UP in 2023. Goeun and Chaein have writing credits across the group’s albums. Swan, known for recording guide vocals for Chungha’s Snapping, will likely continue solo work.
