BLACKPINK’s Rosé has reached another historic milestone with her global hit “APT.”, a duet with Bruno Mars. The music video, released on October 18, 2024, officially surpassed 2 billion views on YouTube on September 18, 2025. According to YouTube, it achieved 2,030,895,9 views, crossing the mark in just 334 days.

This makes it the fastest K-pop music video ever to hit 2 billion views, breaking previous records set by PSY’s “Gangnam Style” and BTS’s “Dynamite.” It is also the fastest video by a K-pop and Asian act and the fourth fastest overall in YouTube history.

With this achievement, Rosé becomes the first female artist this decade to release a music video that surpassed 2 billion views. She also makes history as the first artist to hold music videos with over 2 billion views both as a soloist and as part of a group. BLACKPINK’s own hits “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “Kill This Love” also belong to the 2 billion club, and now Rosé’s solo track joins them.

“APT.” now ranks at the top of the list of fastest K-pop music videos to reach 2 billion views. The breakdown shows Rosé and Bruno Mars at number one with 334 days, PSY’s “Gangnam Style” in second place with 684 days, BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” in third with 1,663 days, BTS’s “Dynamite” in fourth with 1,840 days, and BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” in fifth with 1,975 days.

Beyond K-pop, only three other videos in YouTube history have reached 2 billion views in under a year: Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito,” Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” and Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You.” Rosé and Bruno Mars now join this select group.

In addition, it entered Billboard’s Hot 100 at number eight before peaking at number three, maintaining a spot on the chart for 45 consecutive weeks, the longest ever for a K-pop solo song. It also helped Rosé earn recognition as one of Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World 2025.”

The 28-year-old singer made history by becoming the first K-pop artist to win Song of the Year (SOTY) at the recently held MTV Video Music Awards, with “APT.”

On the work front, Rosé will resume the ‘Deadline’ tour with BLACKPINK girls next month. She is also set to take the stage at the Forbes Under 30 Summit Music Festival in Columbus.
