Seungkwan from SEVENTEEN always makes sure to honor his dear friend Moonbin from ASTRO, who unexpectedly passed away last year. At the MAMA Awards 2023, he fondly recalled Moonbin in his speech when they won the Daesang.
In his heartfelt speech, he couldn’t help but shed tears and mentioned that the year was quite eventful.
SEVENTEEN recently wrapped up their two encore concerts, ‘FOLLOW AGAIN,’ at Seoul World Cup Stadium on April 27 and 28. During the emotional final day, Seungkwan touched the audience with a mention of Moonbin.
Once again, the 26-year-old singer became emotional as he recalled Moonbin after performing Cheers To Youth. In his ment, he expressed his emotions, saying, “since the song is bright and happy, if Binnie heard this song, he’d probably say ‘Seungkwan-ah, this is so good!’”
After that, he began to cry, saying, “He’s a friend who always comes to support us.”
Seungkwan has been paying tribute to Moonbin multiple times since his sudden passing last year. At the beginning of 2024, he even included photos with him in his cover song video.
After Moonbin’s passing, he shared his condolences on his Instagram saying, “Even in our next lives, you’re my friend.”
