SEVENTEEN is sweeping the year-end award shows with amazing performances and big wins!
The 13-member K-pop group previously won Daesang (Grand Prize) at MAMA Awards 2024. In addition, they earned a nomination in the “Top Touring K-Pop Artist” category at the Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs 2024).
On December 2 (local time), Billboard announced Teddy Swims and SEVENTEEN as the first lineup of performers, scheduled to perform on December 13.
SEVENTEEN will likely perform their title song “LOVE, MONEY, FAME” from their 12th mini-album “SPILL THE FEELS” at the awards ceremony.
SEVENTEEN will compete with ENHYPEN and TXT in the ‘Top K-Pop Touring Artist’ category at the Billboard Music Awards 2024. Their world tour ‘Follow’, which took place from July last year to January this year, was a massive success with 20 shows in 9 cities.
Billboard’s semi-annual Boxscore report revealed that SEVENTEEN’s 18 concerts from October 2023 to March 2024 drew in 52,000 fans, generating $67.5 million (93.4 billion won) in ticket sales. This impressive feat secured SEVENTEEN’s rank as 16th overall and the top K-pop group.
The group previously took home “Best Group” award at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. Attention is focused on whether they will continue their momentum at the BBMAs.
They swept domestic and international music award ceremonies, including winning five awards including two grand prizes at the 2024 MAMA Awards, a domestic popular music award ceremony.
On another note, SEVENTEEN will hold concerts at Tokyo Dome (December 4-5), the Kyocera Dome Osaka (December 12, 14-15, and the Fukuoka PayPay Dome on December 19, 21-22.
