Shin Se Kyung to Replace Nana in Upcoming Spy Action Movie ‘Humint’

Shin Se Kyung and Nana

Shin Se Kyung is set to wow audiences with her new role in a spy action film!

Following Nana’s departure from the project, Shin Se Kyung has been announced as her replacement in Humint.

Making her genre film comeback after 10 years, Shin Se Kyung joins the cast of Humint, a high-octane spy action film by director Ryoo Seung Wan.

She takes over the lead role previously held by Nana, who departed due to scheduling issues.

Shin Se Kyung stars as Chae Sun Hwa, a humble North Korean restaurant worker. She will be working alongside Zo In Sung as Chief Jo of South Korea’s National Intelligence Service and Park Jeong Min as Chief Park Gun of North Korea’s Ministry of State Security.

Shin Se Kyung returns to film after a long hiatus, following her last appearance in Tazza: The Hidden Card (2014). However, she made a cameo in the 2017 film The Preparation. She has since focused on television dramas including The Bride of Habaek, Captivating the King, Run On, When a Man Loves, and more.

After parting ways with IU’s agency EDAM Entertainment, she joined Ahn Hyo Seop’s agency, The Present Company. The Run On actress was in talks to star alongside Lomon in the fantasy drama, however, was replaced by Kim Hye Yoon.

Humint is directed by Ryoo Seung Wan, who directed Veteran 2, which recently surpassed 5 million moviegoers.

Humint, which hits theaters in 2025, is a spy action film that brings together top-notch stars Zo In Sung, Park Jeong Min, Park Hae Joon, and Shin Se Kyung in a gripping tale of secret agents from South and North Korea who collide while investigating a high-stakes crime at the Vladivostok border.

Production is set to begin in the second half of this year.
