The countdown to one of K-pop’s most anticipated year-end music festivals has begun!
The 2024 MBC Gayo Daejejeon is just around the corner, and the exciting lineup of hosts has been officially announced.
On December 6, MBC confirmed that this year’s ceremony will be led by three talented stars: SHINee’s charismatic Minho, Girls’ Generation’s lovely YoonA, and TWS’ charming Dohoon. Earlier today, it was reported that the trio would host the event this year, which was later confirmed by MBC.
Girls’ Generation member YoonA has hosted the MBC Gayo Daejejeon for 10 consecutive years. Starting in 2015, she has consistently held her position as an MC, making her the only person to host a major terrestrial year-end special program for a decade.
Minho is set to host the MBC Gayo Daejejeon for the third time, following his appearances in 2018 and 2023. Notably, this will be his second consecutive year hosting the event. Minho also holds a notable record as the longest-serving MC in the history of MBC’s “Show! Music Core.”
The rising star Dohoon made his comeback with TWS in January this year. Having previously hosted “Show! Music Core” as a special MC in July, he is set to join veteran MCs and senior artists for MBC Gayo Daejejeon 2024.
MBC’s annual year-end music festival, Gayo Daejejeon, will be broadcast live on December 31st. This year’s event promises an exciting lineup and performances, with Yoon Hye Jin PD at the helm. Hosted by YoonA, Minho, and Dohoon, the festival is expected to deliver a memorable close to 2024 and a powerful start to 2025.
