The production team of Netflix’s dating reality show Single’s Inferno season 5 has denied allegations concerning the private life of cast member Lee Sung Hoon.
On February 2, a representative from the production team spoke to Maeil Business Newspaper and stated that the claims were not true. According to the production team, they verified the situation directly with the cast and confirmed that the allegations were false.
The issue began earlier the same day when Taiwanese media outlet Liberty Times published a report citing claims made by influencer Kevin Ninh. In his content, Kevin Ninh said he had personally met a male cast member from Single’s Inferno 5. After the claims spread, Lee Sung Hoon was identified online as the person involved.
Following this, further allegations appeared. These included claims that Lee Sung Hoon had previously been in a relationship with an influencer and had cheated on her multiple times during that relationship.
Lee directly addressed the situation through his personal social media accounts. He stated that all of the allegations were completely false and announced that he was pursuing legal action for defamation. Shortly after making this statement, he deleted his social media accounts and is currently reported to be living in New York.
In response to inquiries from the media, the production team reiterated their position. They emphasized that after confirming the facts with the cast, they found no truth to the claims. The statement aligns with Lee Sung Hoon’s own denial and legal response.
Single’s Inferno is a dating reality show that places single men and women in a remote location known as “Hell Island.” Contestants can only leave the island and go to a luxury location called Paradise if they successfully match with a partner. The show first aired in 2021 and has since become one of Netflix’s most popular Korean reality programs.
Season 5 of Single’s Inferno premiered on January 20, 2026, with new episodes released every Tuesday. This season features a cast of 15 singles, including Park Hee Sun, Kim Go Eun, Ham Ye Jin, Kim Min Gee, Youn Hyun Jae, and more. The season includes a higher number of international contestants compared to previous seasons.
The familiar host panel has returned, featuring Hong Jin Kyung, Lee Da Hee, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, rapper HANHAE, and Dex, who previously appeared as a contestant. Season 5 also introduced new twists early on, including a surprise vote in the first episode that allowed the most popular contestants to immediately choose partners for Paradise.
