82MAJOR in a teaser for 3rd mini-album Silence Syndrome

SM Entertainment has finalized its acquisition of a controlling stake in GREAT M Entertainment, home to rising boy group 82MAJOR. The deal, completed this week, comes just as the hip-hop-influenced group confirms an extensive North American tour kicking off in June.

SM Entertainment has officially become the second-largest shareholder of 82MAJOR’s agency, GREAT M Entertainment, as of May 27. Through this agreement, SM will collaborate with GREAT M’s CEO Kim Young Sun to support 82MAJOR’s ongoing development and promotions.

This partnership expands SM’s multi-label business model while allowing GREAT M to operate independently.

On the other hand, 82MAJOR is set to kick off their “82 SYNDROME” North American tour on June 11, wrapping up on July 19. The six-member group, consisting of Seongil, Yechan, Seongmo, Seongbin, Seokjoon, and Dogyun, will perform in several cities, including

During the tour, 82MAJOR will show off their performance skills with a diverse set list and high-energy live performances. Fans can expect an exciting experience, with options for general admission, VIP packages, and special experiences like hi-touch and photo opportunities.

Their third mini-album “SILENCE SYNDROME” was released on April 15, 2025, and has achieved significant success. Notably, “SILENCE SYNDROME” (61,398 copies) nearly doubled the initial sales of their second mini-album “X-82” (38,927 copies) released last year.

Now that SM Entertainment has closed Great M’s share purchase, it will provide full-fledged support to 82MAJOR for their future endeavors.
