Former Apink member Son Naeun has made a shocking revelation: she’s no longer in touch with her former group members.
The 30-year-old singer and actress made waves with his acting skills in the JTBC Weekend drama, Romance in the House, which concluded on September 15. She starred alongside SHINee’s Choi Min Ho, Kim Ji Soo, Jin Ji Hee, and ASTRO’s Sanha.
Naeun gave an interview to a Korean media outlet, dishing details about the drama Romance in the House and contact with Apink members.
Following an 11-year journey with Apink, Son Naeun departed the group in 2022, leaving fans shocked and saddened. Notably, the group had released a 10th-anniversary album with the group that same year. However, she opted out of promotional activities and eventually withdrew two months later.
Nearly 3 years later, she is opening up about her relationship with her former groupmates.
Naeun shared her thoughts on her departure saying, “I don’t feel resentful. We finished filming the 10th-anniversary album’s music video, etc., but our schedules didn’t align, so we couldn’t [promote] together. I felt sorry for the members and fans, and I also felt regret. Since it’s a team that spent a long time together from our teens to twenties, it remains as beautiful and precious memories.”
“Now, it’s time to show [my abilities] in my own position. As it’s a team that has been together for a long time, I wanted to be together until the end, but there were parts that needed to be accepted as not possible. Rather than feeling resentful, I decided to accept it this way. Currently, I am not in contact with them [members], but as one fan, I’m supporting [them].”
She added, “Eun Ji unnie’s work (Miss Night and Day) is doing well, and I feel good about passing the baton. I am trying to find and watch everything [the members] appear in. Everyone is doing their best, and I am silently cheering them on from the bottom of my heart.”
