The wait is over for fans of “Reborn Rich” as the production company has officially confirmed a second season is coming. The lead actor Song Joong Ki may reprise his role as the brilliant yet vengeful Jin Do Jun/Hyun Woo. The announcement comes two years after the first season became one of 2022’s highest-rated dramas.
The first season became widely popular for its thrilling storyline of a murdered conglomerate employee who gets reborn as the family’s youngest heir.
Reborn Rich Gets Second Season
Reborn Rich 2 will be produced by the entertainment agency Artist Group, co-founded by “Squid Game” star Lee Jung Jae, who serves as its major shareholder.
On May 8, Artist Group (comprising Artist Company and Artist Studio) officially confirmed it has initiated planning and development for Season 2.
The Artist Company will oversee the drama’s overall planning and creative direction. Meanwhile, its sister company, Artist Studio, will handle intellectual property (IP) management and physical production.
Reborn Rich, a fantasy regression drama aired in 2022, followed Yoon Hyun Woo (Song Joong Ki), a loyal secretary to the Soonyang Group chaebol family. He is betrayed and murdered by the conglomerate family. He then wakes up in 1987 in the body of Jin Do Jun, the youngest grandson of the Soonyang family. With his knowledge of the future, Do Jun plots a hostile takeover of the group to exact revenge.
The leading cast of the drama included Song Joong Ki, Lee Sung Min, and Shin Hyun Been.
The drama gained massive popularity and scored the second-highest viewership rating in Korean cable television history. The finale recorded a 26.9% nationwide rating.
Reborn Rich 2 Plot and Release Timeline
Building on the phenomenal success of season 1, the second installment will shift its backdrop to the international arena. The main characters will struggle for power, success, and love on a global stage. The new season will introduce fresh faces and new storylines, and viewers can expect higher stakes, new rivalries, and intense competition.
Meanwhile, Artist Company has not yet confirmed casting for returning roles (including Song Joong Ki’s potential involvement). “Reborn Rich 2” release date is also not announced yet, but the second season will likely be released in late 2026 or early 2027.
