Song Kang is reportedly getting ready to return to acting later this year after finishing his military service. The actor will play a piano prodigy in a musically themed coming-of-age story.

According to a SPOTV News report on June 30, Song Kang is in talks to star in a new youth drama called ‘Four Hands’ (literal title). This will likely be his first project after his discharge this October.

‘Four Hands’ is a drama about young people who meet at an arts high school and grow together through friendship, love, and rivalry. The title comes from a piano technique where two performers play one piano at the same time. In the show, Song Kang is expected to play a piano prodigy with a delicate but sharp charm.

The 31-year-old Kdrama actor enlisted on April 2, 2024, and will complete his service on October 1, 2025. Since he is still serving, final details will be confirmed after his discharge, but many expect ‘Four Hands’ to be his big comeback.

Song Kang has built a strong global fanbase through popular K-dramas like ‘Love Alarm’ and ‘Sweet Home.’ He has also starred in other hits like ‘Navillera,’ ‘Nevertheless,’ and ‘My Demon.’

Before enlisting, he wrapped up a busy schedule, including filming ‘Sweet Home’ Season 3 and making a special appearance in the movie ‘Escape.’ The Kdrama actor also performed MC duties for the audition program, ‘I-LAND 2,’ which formed the girl group izna.

Known for roles in romance, fantasy, and horror, ‘Four Hands’ will be his first music-centric drama, if confirmed.

With this, Song Kang is expected to return to fans with a more mature image. The production team is now working on casting and other preparations before filming begins.

Ahead of his return in October, pre-production and casting for the female lead and supporting roles may already be finalized.

Fans are already excited to see what Song Kang will bring to the screen next.
