Spring Fever is an upcoming Korean romantic comedy set to premiere in January on Prime Video. The drama pairs a reserved city teacher with a warm, outspoken local man in a quiet coastal town.
Based on a popular web novel, the drama brings together actors Ahn Bo Hyun and Lee Joo Bin.
Small-town romance has long been a favorite theme in Korean dramas. Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Summer Strike, and Welcome to Samdal-ri are the best examples of it.
Spring Fever was filmed mainly in Pohang, a coastal city known for its scenic views and relaxed pace. Ahn Bo Hyun, who is from nearby Busan, said filming by the sea brought him genuine happiness. Lee Joo Been fondly recalls the experience as a “happy little trip.”
The drama premieres in January 2024, and multiple teasers and details have been released so far.
Spring Fever Release Date

New episodes will be released weekly, with two episodes airing every Monday and Tuesday. In South Korea, the drama will also air on tvN at 8:50 p.m. KST. Prime Video subscribers will be able to watch on multiple devices and download episodes for offline viewing.
Plot Overview
The story is set in the quiet town of Sinsu, where Yoon Bom (Lee Joo Bin), a high school teacher from Seoul, arrives hoping for a fresh start. Her plans for a peaceful life are disrupted when she meets Seon Jae Gyu (Ahn Bo Hyun), a well-known local figure whose bold personality immediately stands out. His outgoing nature and rough appearance contrast sharply with Yoon Bom’s calm and distant demeanor.
Seon Jae Gyu is a bold and unpredictable local man whose behavior frequently disrupts the village’s quiet routine. Despite his rough first impression, he is deeply devoted to his family.
Cast and Characters
- Ahn Bo Hyun plays Seon Jae Gyu, a man who looks intimidating at first but is emotionally open and sincere. Known for action-heavy roles in dramas such as My Name, Yumi’s Cells, and Flex X Cop, Ahn intentionally chose a softer role this time. He described Jae Gyu as someone who is “strong on the outside but soft at heart.” He maintained a strict workout routine during filming and used his natural Busan dialect to add authenticity.
- Lee Joo Bin plays Yoon Bom, a teacher who seems emotionally distant but gradually reveals a gentler side. Known for her roles in Twelve, Queen of Tears, and The Divorce Insurance, she continues to take on layered characters. Promotional clips show Jae Gyu openly challenging Yoon Bom’s emotional boundaries, including a scene where he asks her directly if she is afraid of falling for him.
- Cho Jun Young plays Seon Han Gyul, a nephew of a top student Jae Gyu and a top student at the local high school. The 22-year-old actor has played sporting roles in Crushology 101, Dear.M, and Spirit Fingers.
- Lee Jae In stars as transfer student Choi Se Jin, Han Gyul’s rival and self-proclaimed “anti-fan”. Her acting credits include Our Unwritten Seoul, Racket Boys, and The Price of Confession.
- Cha Seo Won (Live or Die, Miss Lee) as Choi Yi Jun, an elite lawyer whose presence creates intrigue between the leads.
The cast also includes Jin Kyung, Bae Jung Nam, Kim Beong Choun, Oh Man Seok, and Jung Young Ki as fellow teachers and villagers.
Spring Fever Trailer
Official teasers introduce Seon Jae Gyu as a figure who immediately draws attention in the village. On the other hand, Yoon Bom reacts with surprise when she realizes he is her student’s guardian. A key moment features Jae Gyu confidently breaking the ice with the cautious Yoon Bom, asking, “Why? Are you afraid you might fall for me?”.
In the trailer, Lee Joo Bin’s character is described as a ‘loner by choice’, whereas Jae Gyu’s character is called ‘A dangerous man.’
