Stray Kids, TXT, TWICE, Jungkook, and More Make the Top 10 in 2023 US CD Sales

K-pop artists have completely taken over the CD sales market in the United States! Illuminate, the music industry analysis firm, recently published their annual report January 11. The report analyzed the period from December 30, 2022, to December 28 of the previous year. 

Out of the top 10 best-selling CD albums in the United States, 7 were from K-pop groups, not counting Taylor Swift’s three albums. 

Stray Kids achieved the highest ranking with their 3rd full-length album, 5-STAR, coming in 2nd place in the U.S. Top CD Album Sales. They sold a whopping 520,000 copies during this period. 

There’s more, their mini-album ROCK-STAR which dropped in November last year, secured the 4th position, with an impressive 381,000 copies. 

Followed by Stray Kids, TXT snagged the 3rd spot with their album The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION, selling a whopping 442,000 copies. NewJeans’ album Get Up secured the 5th spot, selling an impressive 332,000 copies. 

TWICE came in at 6th place with their album Ready to Be, surpassing cumulative sales of 303,000 copies. Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN’s FML secured the 7th spot with 288,000 copies sold. 

Jungkook from BTS made it onto the chart as the only K-pop solo artist. His first full-length album, GOLDEN, sold 244,000 copies and secured the 10th position in that category.
