Juyeon of THE BOYZ and Rei of IVE are set to take the stage as hosts of ASEA 2025.
On March 19, the ASEA Organizing Committee announced that Juyeon and Rei will host the first day of the ‘2nd Asia Star Entertainer Awards 2025’ (ASEA 2025), taking place on May 28 in Tokyo, Japan. The two-day event will run from May 28 to 29.
They are teaming up for the first time as MCs at a K-pop event. They will play a key role in celebrating the biggest names in K-pop and guide audiences through the award ceremony.
Since debuting with THE BOYZ in 2017, Juyeon has been one of the popular group members and served as the team’s center. Prior to this, the 27-year-old K-pop star made a stylish appearance at the Balenciaga show in Paris, France, on March 9.
In addition, this is not his first time hosting a K-pop event. He has previously hosted many K-pop festivals along with fellow artists and impressed audiences with smooth hosting skills. He previously served as an MC for a year for the Korean music show “The Show” (from February 2020 to February 2021). Additionally, he stepped in as a special MC for music shows “Show! Music Core” and “Music Bank”.
Since debuting with IVE in 2021, Rei has catapulted to global fame. While it is her first time hosting an award ceremony, she has previously served as a special MC for “Show! Music Core” in May last year. Plus, the IVE member also has a YouTube show “Follow Rei?” where she engages in various activities.
The Asia Star Entertainment Awards, or ASEA, is a prestigious ceremony that brings together top Asian artists and fans worldwide through music.
The first edition was held last year which featured a talented lineup, including Stray Kids, TXT, DAY6, TREASURE, SHINee’s Taemin, and Creepy Nuts.
Hosted by Korea’s leading entertainment and sports media outlet Newsen, this year’s award ceremony promises to be just as spectacular.
In the coming weeks, the ASEA 2025 official website will unveil the lineup of performing artists, award categories, and judging criteria.
