Golden Globe-nominated actress Chase Infiniti has revealed that she is a devoted fan of the K-pop group ATEEZ. This connection came to light during the promotion of her Oscar-nominated film, One Battle After Another.
During a red carpet interview with etalk, the 25-year-old actress professed her love for K-pop and revealed her favorite members from BTS and ATEEZ. When asked about her favorite BTS and ATEEZ biases, she replied, “It depends on the month.”
Chase Infiniti revealed her BTS bias is j-hope; however, her favorite group is ATEEZ. The One Battle After Another actress revealed that her favorite member of ATEEZ is San. She added, “I have too many groups that I listen to, so this will be a recurring thing. You will ask me about the next group, and I’ll be like, ‘this is my bias in the group.’”
She openly identifies as an ATINY, the official name for ATEEZ fans. Chase has followed San on social media, shared fancams, and even posed with a large cut-out of his face during an ATEEZ tour.
Her rise in Hollywood has been rapid. Just over a year ago, she was mainly known for her role in the Apple TV+ series Presumed Innocent. Her debut film role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another as Willa Ferguson, the daughter of revolutionaries on the run, earned her a Golden Globe nomination. This role even put her in contention for the Academy Award for Best Actress. The role required six months of martial arts training and she performed her own stunts.
Before acting took over her career, Infiniti co-founded a K-pop cover dance group called Duple Dance Crew in Chicago. The group posted videos during the pandemic, including a viral cover of NewJeans’ “OMG.”
ATEEZ is an eight-member South Korean boy group under KQ Entertainment, known for their powerful performances. They were the first K-pop boy group to perform at Coachella and have headlined major international festivals. San, Chase Infiniti’s bias, is loved for his intense stage presence and bold fashion sense.
In an interview with Elle, the actress revealed that she has attended nearly every ATEEZ tour, along with concerts by other groups such as NCT and ENHYPEN. She has even shared song recommendations and her personal favorite tracks, including ATEEZ songs like “BOUNCY (K-HOT CHILLI PEPPERS),” “HALA HALA,” “WONDERLAND.” She also singled out “GUERRILLA” as a track she feels is underrated by fans.
Besides ATEEZ, her favorites include songs by NCT U (“90’s Love”) and HEARTS2HEARTS (“APPLE PIE”), which she sound-tracked a Seoul trip photo dump with.
