TWS member Jihoon is mourning the loss of his father, who passed away on the evening of January 11, 2026. His health worsened during a battle with an illness, as stated by the agency on January 12.
PLEDIS Entertainment, the agency representing Jihoon, shared the heartbreaking news, “Jihoon is currently at the funeral hall, and the funeral will be held with family and close relatives.”
The label asked fans and the public for understanding and privacy as the young artist spends time with his family. The funeral is being held privately with close relatives, and Jihoon is currently at the funeral hall. The agency requested, “We kindly ask for your warm consideration and support so that JIHOON may have sufficient time to mourn with his family.”
The timing of this loss is particularly poignant, as Jihoon and TWS had recently participated in major professional events.
Just a day before, on January 10, 2026, Jihoon attended the 40th Golden Disc Awards at the Taipei Dome in Taiwan with his group. As TWS’s main dancer, the 19-year-old idol has built a strong fan following thanks to his immense talent and kind personality. He spent seven years as a trainee before debuting in January 2024 and is also known for his multilingual abilities, speaking Korean, Japanese, and English.
Fans have expressed deep sympathy and shared a touching memory from June 2025. During TWS’s first solo concert, Jihoon looked out at the audience and asked, “Dad, did I do well?” That moment has made the news of his father’s passing even more emotional.
