Lee Junho is reportedly joining the cast of the upcoming film Veteran 3, according to a report by SPOTV News on November 11. The film is part of the widely successful “Veteran” series, directed by Ryoo Seung Wan, which follows detective Seo Do Cheol (played by Hwang Jung Min) as he takes on major criminals.
The first “Veteran” film was a blockbuster released in 2015 that drew over 13.41 million viewers. The second film, released in 2024, gathered 7.52 million viewers despite industry challenges and the post‑pandemic market.
With Lee Junho reportedly joining Veteran 3, speculation is running high about what role he might play. Given the franchise’s tradition of placing a standout antagonist opposite Seo Do Cheol (Hwang Jung Min), many believe Lee could fill that villain role. If confirmed, this would be a big moment in his film career, acting alongside Hwang Jung Min in one of Korea’s top action franchises.
Lee Junho is already having a high‑profile year. His current TV drama, Typhoon Family, has been achieving strong viewership ratings in Korea. In addition, he is set to star in the upcoming Netflix series Cashero, based on a webtoon where his character gains superpowers linked to cash.
His agency, O3 Collective, confirmed on November 11 that he has received the offer for Veteran 3 and is reviewing it positively, nothing has been finalized yet.
Veteran 3 will join the detective Seo Do‑cheol saga by bringing in new tensions, new criminals, and new stakes. Veteran 2 ended on a cliff‑hanger in which the villain Park Sun Woo (played by Jung Hae In) escaped during transport.
In short, if Lee Junho joins Veteran 3, it could be a defining moment in his transition from popular TV star to major film actor.
Meanwhile, Lee’s ongoing drama “Typhoon Family” concludes its run on November 30. His Netflix drama ‘Cashero’ with Kim Hye Jun premieres next month.
