WATCH: BTS’ J-Hope Throws Ceremonial First Pitch for KIA Tigers

J-Hope throwing first pitch at KIA Tigers vs Samsung Lions Match

BTS’ J-Hope has finally returned to the public eye 6 days after his military discharge.

J-Hope took the mound at Gwangju KIA Champions Field as the ceremonial first pitcher for the second game of the 2024 KBO League Korean Series. The match between the Kia Tigers and Samsung Lions was previously postponed to October 23.

The 30-year-old rapper and dancer was originally scheduled to throw the ceremonial first pitch on October 22. However, the game was canceled due to unfavorable weather conditions.

After the initial cancellation, he followed through with the first pitch, showing love to his hometown of  Gwangju and the KIA Tigers.

Following his military discharge on April 17, J-Hope made his first public appearance as a ceremonial first pitcher at Game 2 of the Korean Series. After serving 1.5 years as an assistant instructor since April last year, fans were excited for the “Neuron” rapper to return to the spotlight.

His ceremonial first pitch holds special significance as he becomes the first BTS member to do so in Korea. While BTS threw the first pitch together at a Japanese professional baseball game in 2017, this marks the first individual pitch by a member in Korea.

Now that Jin and J-Hope have completed their military service, fans are looking forward to the BTS reunion in 2025.
