Rosé’s solo shine has rubbed off on YG Entertainment!

Even though the 27-year-old singer is no longer pursuing solo activities under YG Entertainment, she is still part of the agency as a BLACKPINK member.

Rosé and Bruno Mars’ collaboration song “APT.” is currently dominating the charts and breaking streaming records left and right.

Thanks to its phenomenal success, she has not only shattered BLACKPINK’s record, but Rosé has become the first K-pop female artist to top US Spotify. She has joined BTS’ Jungkook and Jimin as the only K-pop soloists to hit #1 on Spotify in the US.

The success of her solo release has translated to big gains for YG Entertainment as well.

On October 22, YG Entertainment’s stock price jumped 6.16% to 45,000 won, its highest in three months. This surge was largely driven by BLACKPINK member Rosé’s new solo song, “APT.” with Bruno Mars, based on a Korean drinking game.

Released on October 18, the song is part of Rosé’s upcoming solo album “rosie“, set to drop on December 6.

In December 2023, BLACKPINK members(Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, Lisa) renewed their group contract with YG Entertainment.

They will reunite for a full-group comeback and world tour in 2025, as announced on September 24. Meanwhile, members will pursue individual projects independently.

Rosé is managing solo releases by partnering with Atlantic Records. Moreover, she signed a management contract with THE BLACK LABEL, a YG affiliate led by producer Teddy, in June.
