After spending several months on hiatus, Izna’s Yoon Jiyoon has now officially confirmed her departure from the group.

On August 19, SPOTV News revealed that the 20-year-old idol reached the decision to step away following months of rest and talks with her agency, WakeOne.

The singer halted activities back in February, only three months after debut, citing health concerns. When the hiatus was first announced, the agency explained that ensuring her full recovery and well-being would be treated as the top priority.

Shortly after the news broke, WakeOne Entertainment confirmed her departure through an official statement, stating

After long and careful consideration, YOON JI YOON has decided to conclude team activities. Since the beginning of this year, YOON JI YOON has been focusing on rest and recovery. And during that time, the company and the artist had in-depth discussions about the direction of future activities. As a result, it was decided that JI YOON will be stepping away from group activities with health as the top priority.

Following this decision, izna will move forward with their future promotions as a six-member group.

The company added that the decision came after in-depth discussions and that her health was placed above all else. They also expressed regret for causing concern but promised izna would continue to repay fans with strong performances.

With Jiyoon’s departure, izna will now move forward as a six-member group consisting of Mai, Bang Jeemin, KoKo, Ryu Sarang, Choi Jungeun, and Jung Saebi.

izna, formed through Mnet’s survival program I-LAND 2: N/a, debuted in November last year.  Jiyoon, who served as the main vocalist, drew attention during the show for her powerful vocals and stage presence.

Since her hiatus, the group has remained active. In June, they returned with their single “Beep,” which showed a lively, playful side of the members. Moving forward, they will continue activities with six members, and Yoon Jiyoon may step away from the industry or continue as a soloist.
