ZEROBASEONE is at a critical juncture as discussions continue about the group’s future once their current contract period ends.
Wake One told TenAsia that the company is “discussing various possibilities, but nothing has been confirmed yet.” At the same time, industry insiders say the group is very likely to continue in a smaller form.
Take the past case with EVNNE, for example. The group continued activities with five members after two Yuehua (now YH Entertainment) artists left. For those unversed, Ji Yunseo and Yoo Seungeon left the group, and EVNNE continues with five members.
ZEROBASEONE is also expected to carry on team activities under Wake One’s management for some time, even after the YH Entertainment members depart.
ZEROBASEONE’s contract for full nine-member group activities expires in March. Ahead of that, the group still has important activities planned as a complete lineup. They are set to release a new album titled “Re-Flow,” which will come out about five months after their first full-length album, “NEVER SAY NEVER,” released in September last year.
“Re-Flow” will be released as a special limited edition through various music platforms on February 2 at 6 PM KST.
Reports indicate that five members—Sung Hanbin, Kim Jiwoong, Seok Matthew, Kim Taerae, and Park Gunwook—are likely to continue their activities under Wake One Entertainment.
Meanwhile, four members—Zhang Hao, Ricky, Kim Gyuvin, and Han Yujin—are leaving the group and returning to YH Entertainment. YH Entertainment has stated that these four artists are “reviewing and aligning various paths” and plans are being developed “in a structured and progressive manner” for their solo careers.
The situation has unfolded over several months. ZEROBASEONE’s original activity contract was set to expire this month. In December 2025, Wake One announced a two-month extension that allowed full-group promotions to continue into 2026.
On January 12, 2026, YH Entertainment officially confirmed that its four artists would return to the agency. Two days later, on January 14, TenAsia reported that the remaining five WakeOne members were highly likely to continue as ZEROBASEONE. However, the label emphasized again that discussions are ongoing and no final decision has been made.
Despite the uncertainty, the group still plans to complete key final activities together as nine members. Along with the release of “Re-Flow,” special encore concerts are also planned to wrap up their promotions. YH Entertainment has stated that it will support these final group activities.
For now, all the signs strongly suggest a split in member activities. However, the future of the ZEROBASEONE name and the structure of the group has not been officially confirmed.
